Keep the wheels turning in memory of Denis and others.

Donate to our Palliative Care Unit.

Between Monday May 23 and Saturday May 28, we are raising awareness and funds for the Palliative Care Unit at the Saanich Peninsula Hospital. Together, our community will support those facing end-of-life, and their loved ones, by ensuring our Palliative Care Unit and staff have everything needed to provide comfort and care during this most difficult time.

Hop on your bike and ride your favourite route in memory of Denis Muloin. Or ride and donate for someone else that has needed, or may need, the kind and compassionate care from our Palliative people. There is no registration fee, we simply ask for a donation.

As a participant, choose your own favourite path, whether it be a safe road route, the Galloping Goose, or Lochside Trail. It’s up to you! Then send us a picture to share at

Each year, through your support of this event, you demonstrate your commitment to our vital mission of supporting Palliative Care. Thank you!

Denis Muloin was a passionate advocate for cycling in our community, and many will remember him as the manager of Sidney’s Russ Hays bike store. Denis died in 2014 after a long battle with cancer. His last months were spent at the Palliative Care Unit at SPH. The wonderful care that he received hasn’t been forgotten by his friends and family, who were impressed by the caring staff, community atmosphere, and the ease of having the facility so close to home.

Thanks to the support of the Muloin family a lovely sunroom was built for the Palliative Care Unit, and the annual Bike Ride was organized to keep Denis’s memory alive and raise funds to continue supporting the Unit.

Please make a donation here – you will have a significant and direct impact on those currently in Palliative Care.

Your donation today will make a difference!

Thank you. Your support makes a difference to the SPH Palliative Care Unit.
