We can't ride together this year due to physical distancing requirements but we still want you to ride in memory of Denis and others, and to raise funds for our Palliative Care Unit.

Instead of paying to register for our group ride we ask that you please make a donation to Palliative Care. Get out on your bike on the weekend of May 23/24th and remember Denis - a father and friend from our community, and a passionate bike rider. You could take a selfie from your ride and share it with us on social media!

Denis Muloin was a passionate advocate for cycling in our community, and many will remember him as the manager of Sidney’s Russ Hays bike store. Denis died in 2014 after a long battle with cancer. His last months were spent at the Palliative Care unit at the Saanich Peninsula Hospital. The wonderful care that he received at SPH hasn’t been forgotten by his friends and family who were impressed by the caring staff, community atmosphere and the ease of having the facility so close to home. Thanks to their support a lovely sunroom was created in the Palliative Unit at SPH and the annual Bike Ride was organised to keep Denis’s memory alive, and raise funds to continue supporting the Unit.
