Brewing up dollars for healthcare!

Fantastic community support is coming our way from the Fresh Cup Roastery Cafe in Saanichton. Always a favourite of SPH staff, the coffee shop is currently hosting a fundraiser for the Hospital Foundation in partnership with CHEK News and their ‘The Upside’ show.

Since there are no local sports, or any sports, happening during these challenging times, Jeff King, Kevin Charach and the rest of the Sports Department have been heading out into the community to highlight positive stories and bring some levity and smiles each day during CHEK Newscasts. They paid a visit to the Fresh Cup Roastery to sample a NEW Upside Blend of coffee at the start of February. That custom blend is available for sale at the Saanichton location on Mount Newton X-roads, but you can also buy it online AND, even more exciting, there’s an Upside mug to go with it!

$10 from every mug sold at the café – or online at www.freshcup.ca  – is being donated to the Foundation. An incredible 396 mugs were sold in February, meaning there’s already a cheque for $3,960 on its way! Fresh Cup’s Owner, Jim Townley, has now decided to raise the stakes and aim for $10,000 in total. We are very grateful for his support, and for the Upside-loving community who have purchased the mugs. In fact, so many have been purchased that they are currently SOLD OUT, but don’t worry, more are on order. Check back on March 12th to ensure you get yours.
